BEAM HOUSE [ONE]

Situated in Tullamore in close proximity to Irish Modernist works by Michael Scott and Fergal McCabe, this house was developed as a series of gradually evolving screening walls that frame views to the nearby fenlands and local countryside. Whilst owing much to these mid-Modernist works, the overall plan form also owes something to more vernacular forms - and to the enclosing settings of the Irish Farmhouse.

The internal ground floor layout of the house is established as a type of Baroque enfilade  -  a suite of rooms formally aligned with each other; whilst the upper floor comprises a panoramic terrace that addresses the countryside.
