FOLD HOUSE {1}

"These are the clouds about the fallen sun, The majesty that shuts his burning eye: The weak lay hand on what the strong has done, Till that be tumbled that was lifted high. And discord follow upon unison, And all things at one common level lie." These Are The Clouds by William Butler Yeats.

This proposal is a for a cluster of family houses in a rural Irish setting. It consists of two main built elements that are clad in local limestone cladding, and forms a series of sloping and tapering roof and wall profiles that edges and adjusts them toward the landscape.

The effect of the siting strategy mean that the overall site carefully mediates between the built and natural landscape - whilst internally - there is a continuous adjustment to the natural setting and to changing sunlight and weather patterns.
