KILDARE HOUSE

"A slumber did my spirit seal;

I had no human fears:

She seemed a thing that could not feel

The touch of earthly years.

No motion has she now, no force;

She neither hears nor sees;

Rolled round in earth's diurnal course,

With rocks, and stones, and trees."

William Wordsworth, A Slumber did my Spirit Seal (1798).

This proposal is a for a family house located outside Naas in County Kildare. The design consists of a number of geometrically arranged elements that twist to the outline of the site whilst generating expansive views of the surrounding landscape. A number of overhanging roof elements negotiate between the interior and exterior spaces of the house, and thereby increase the relationship with the site.
